Energy Balance Research Underway at Kansas University Breast Cancer Survivorship Center
This exciting study is very unique in its design and has shown some very promising results. Instead of the typical diet or exercise walking plan, the Feasibility of a Diet, Exercise and Behavior Modification Intervention Program for Post-Menopausal Breast Cancer Survivors is a 6 month lifestyle change. This program includes a nutrition plan and calorie controlled diet under the guidance of a registered dietician with extended experience working with breast cancer survivors. Numerous psychosocial topics are discussed under the support and guidance of a clinical psychologist. Sami works with the participants bringing her experience as a cancer certified trainer showing the participants effective exercises to lose and maintain weight loss as well as how to maintain their goal weight. She provides energy and motivation and continues to work with the group through their maintenance phase. If you have any questions, please contact Sami.
