The really unique benefit of training with Sami is her ability to intuit the best approach for an individual based upon their current condition and preferences. When I first started with Sami, I couldn't do a standing lunge without falling over. As my strength and coordination increased, she changed my workout accordingly. Although I had worked out quite a bit before my cancer, I was uncertain after chemotherapy and extensive surgeries about what exercises would be both safe and beneficial. I worried about lymphedema, loss of stamina, the total absence of core strength and, in general, negative thoughts about my altered appearance. Sami understands all these physical and emotional limitations, and nevertheless, relentlessly believes in every survivor's potential. Sami has combined her knowledge about the body's anatomy and her knowledge about breast cancer surgery to tailor a program that specifically fits my needs.
